The premise of the book is the cataclysmic aftermath of several nuclear air blasts and the resultant chaos. Very thought provoking. It is also a story about how thin the veneer of civilization actually is.

This has caused the Pentagon to re-evaluate and discus the widespread devastation of the U.S. when this occurs. The author, William Forestchen included a family, EMP, and a small geographical area. All elements of a nation and people are weaved together touching things we could never imagine. The first one third of this book introduces characters, and explodes into a high action thriller. It includes things that our mind would never consider happening. He has written a truly insightful book that everyone should read time our world is at odds concerning several countries.
