Classic writing style
What a great book! Spiller writes in a style unlike modern writers. He seldom uses the word "I" except to note his presence in a hunting situation; and, he is witty and considerate of Grouse, Woodcock, dogs and men. Spiller brings unique insights in upland hunting skills and knowledge; yet, they are interwoven in stories that may bring a tear to the eye in one paragraph, and an out-loud laugh in another. I read his work for the first time this year and am now addicted.
