The focus of the text lies on Sothis and the various manifestations of the dangerous goddess. The Myth of the Sun's Eye has an influence on the composition. Therefore, the aim of the ritual seems to be protection of pharaoh during the beginning of the year, when the sun's eye, that is Sothis, arise, which announces the Nile inundation.
