Mr. Zimmer had a profound mind. He was able to present the many shades, levels, of thinking in India as it was influenced by the various invaders over the many centuries. Probably only those interested in our fragile human condition might be interested in his work, edited by Joseph Campbell, also a wonderful observer. For a great depth of fearless vision and great sympathy for our continuous daily struggles, this is comfort food. This goes for all of Mr. Zimmer?s works such as Philosophies of India and the King and the Corpse. Philosophies of India is his finest work.
