This is another great Joseph Campbell book, but a bit complex. If you are new to Joseph Campbell I would recommend starting with another book that is easier to understand. This seems to go more in depth on ideas that he presents in other books. I've read quite a bit of Joseph Campbell's work, but i still found myself a little daunted and rereading parts of this book to fully grasp it. Its another one of his short books that has a wealth of information.
