In der Nachzeichnung einiger zentraler theoretischer Konzepte zur Erkl�rung von Berufswahlverhalten weist die Arbeit auf, dass bei bisherigen - sowohl soziologischen als auch psychologischen - Er- kl�rungsans�tzen der Faktor Geschlecht als dem Individuum �usserliche Rollenanforderung begriffen wird. Auf der Basis dieser Folgerung wird in der Arbeit anhand einer interaktionistischen Berufswahl- theorie das Verh�ltnis von Berufswahl und Geschlechtsrolle neu bestimmt. Dieser Ansatz gibt den formalen Rahmen einer empirischen Untersuchung ab, die hinsichtlich des Selbstkonzeptes und der Sozialisations- bedingungen einen Vergleich anstellt zwischen M�dchen in sogenannten M�nnerberufen und M�dchen in sogenannten Frauenberufen.
