Dies hat zu Folge, dass wenig Erfolg versprechende Innovationsprojekte zu sp�t oder gar nicht - hingegen Erfolg versprechende Innovationsprojekte zu fr�h abgebrochen werden. Die entstehenden (Opportunit�ts-) Kosten vermindern wiederum die Wettbewerbsf�higkeit und k�nnen f�r Unternehmen existenzbedrohend sein. Eine prozessbegleitende Bewertung von Innovationen mit Hilfe von geeigneten Instrumenten wird daher zum entscheidenden Erfolgsfaktor. Jedoch besteht noch Unklarheit �ber die prozessbegleitende Eignung der Instrumente w�hrend des Innovationsprozesses. Bislang gibt es lediglich die allgemeine Empfehlung, qualitative eher zu Beginn, semi-quantitative in der Mitte und quantitative Instrumente eher gegen Ende eines Innovationsprozesses einzusetzen. Es ist jedoch zu bezweifeln, dass eine solche Aussage den Anspr�chen an eine effektive und effiziente Nutzung der Instrumente gerecht wird. Deshalb hat diese Arbeit zum Ziel, die qualitativen und semi-quantitativen Instrumente f�r den systematischen Einsatz im Innovationscontrolling zu beurteilen und sie den einzelnen Bewertungszeitpunkten im Innovationsprozess zuzuordnen.
