Schulpolitik, Note: 1,0, P�dagogische Hochschule Karlsruhe (Institut f�r Biologie und Schulgartenentwicklung), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: In dieser Arbeit wurden Herausforderungen, W�nsche und Bed�rfnisse diabetischer Schulkinder, ihrer Lehrkr�fte sowie weiterer p�dagogischer Expert*innen (Schulleitungen, Schulamtsmitarbeitende) erforscht sowie Ma�nahmen f�r eine Lehrkr�ftefortbildung zu Diabetes bei Schulkindern aus den Ergebnissen abgeleitet. Dazu wurden 49 Personen in einem Leitfaden-Interview befragt. Aus den Ergebnissen der Untersuchung wurden verschiedene Ma�nahmen f�r eine entsprechende Lehrkr�ftefortbildung abgeleitet. Die Lebensphasen der Kindheit und Jugend werden h�ufig mit Gesundheit, chronische Erkrankungen dagegen mit Alter assoziiert. Epidemiologische Daten, welche bei Kindern und Jugendlichen in den letzten Jahren erhoben wurden, zeigen jedoch ein anderes Bild. Durch die medizinischen Fortschritte in den letzten Jahrzehnten steigt die Zahl der chronisch kranken Kinder und Jugendlichen. Grund daf�r ist, dass Erkrankungen wie Diabetes, die fr�her unweigerlich zum Tode f�hrten, heute zwar nicht heilbar, jedoch gut behandelbar sind. So gehen neuere Sch�tzungen davon aus, dass etwa 7% aller Sch�ler*innen chronisch somatische oder psychische Krankheiten aufweisen - mit steigender Tendenz. Eine an Schulen besonders h�ufig anzutreffende Erkrankung stellt der Diabetes mellitus Typ 1 dar: Die Pr�valenz und Inzidenz dieser Krankheit steigt stetig weiter an, sodass sie die h�ufigste Stoffwechselerkrankung im Kindesalter mit bis zu 17.400 betroffenen Kindern unter 14 Jahren darstellt. Kinder in diesem Alter verbringen einen Gro�teil ihrer Zeit in der Schule, die damit eine zentrale Rolle in ihrem Leben und zugleich einen sozialen Fixpunkt darstellt.
