Great Story
I read this book about two years ago. This book is similar to many of Myrer's books where there is a struggle (on multiple levels) between two male characters. One, who is looks within himself and follows a more moral and ethical pathway while the other "plays the game" and climbs to the top by unscrupulous power plays. Even though the book spans much of the middle 1900's through multiple wars, the story itself is timeless and applicable to many situations. All of the characters are very well developed and easy to relate with. The writing itself is at times very beautiful and almost poetic. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoyed other works by Myrer such as A Green Desire or The Last Convertible.
