An attorney and Emmy Award-winning journalist, he has served as Secretary of the Navy, Assistant Secretary of Defense, and full committee counsel to the U.S. Congress. He is also the New York Times bestselling author of several critically acclaimed novels, including A Time to Fight and Born Fighting. He lives in Virginia.
