Explications de certaines th�ories obscures Les notes que j'ai ajout�es au texte du livre ne renferment que des explications en langage vulgaire de certaines th�ories obscures; c'est la mise au point d'un texte concis, dont l'auteur n'a point pris la peine de r�p�ter les v�rit�s que ses lecteurs chinois devaient conna�tre d'autre part. J'entends donc que l'on n'attribue � nulle religion, � nulle �cole philosophique, les pr�ceptes ou les propositions dont on va lire l'�trange assemblage, assemblage dans lequel on pourra reconna�tre, tant�t Dante, et tant�t Paracelse. Note � propos de l'auteur Matgioi (1861-1939) Georges-Albert Puyou de Pouvourville occupa des fonctions militaires et administratives en Chine. Ses s�jours prolong�s au Tonkin lui permettent de p�n�trer l'esprit chinois. Il rencontre alors un ma�tre Tao�ste qui le pr�pare � recevoir l'initiation dans une soci�t� secr�te chinoise. Une fois initi�, Albert de Pouvourville prend le nom de Matgioi, oeil du jour . Matgioi revient ensuite en Occident et entreprend de diffuser l'enseignement du Tao�sme, � l'encontre des orientalistes. Il expose ainsi, notamment dans la Voie m�taphysique, les doctrines Tao�stes, au point de vue principiel comme dans leurs applications diverses. Matgioi est �galement connu pour avoir initi� le m�taphysicien Ren� Gu�non au Taoisme.
