Seller's Description:
As New in As New jacket. 150 p.; As New in As New unclipped DJ; one of a series of mysteries for young readers set in national parks. Includes Afterword by Darcy Hu, Wildlife Biologist, Hawaii Volcanoes National Park "It was supposed to be a restful family vacation in Hawaii! So why is Jack Landon chasing his younger sister Ashley and a Vietnamese kid named Danny through a lava crater in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park? And who's chasing all three of them? " 8vo-over 7¾"-9¾" tall.
A fun adventure in Hawaii! I am enjoying the National Parks Mysteries, as they truly give kids an excellent view of America's wonderful heritage and land.
Note to Parents: The only thing I disapprove of in this book is the fact that the kids somewhat believe that they are being chased by Pele, the Hawaiian goddess of volcanoes. I do not generally enjoy taking the time to read fiction that makes mythical figures seem all to real -- but it was written all in fun.
Still looking forward to read about the next National Park.

Volcano Adventure
The Landon family, Steven, Olivia, Jack and Ashley are off on the big island of Hawaii for Olivia to take a much needed vacation. Olivia who is a wildlife veteranarian has been asked to come to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and help figure out what is happening to the Nene, the Hawaii State Bird. While in Hawaii, they receive a call from Social Services in Wyoming asking them if they would mind bringing a young Vietnamese boy named Danny Tran back to his grandfather in Jackson Hole. The Landon's are foster parents with a big heart and an inability to say "No" when it comes to helping out with a child. While Olivia is at her meeting, Steve and the kids go off on an adverture of their own. Since Steve wanted to take some photos he allows the kids to go meandering through Devastation Trail. In the process they get off the trail and are lead to believe by Danny that they are being persued by Pele the Goddess of the Volcano. With all the exciting things that happen on this adventure I do not think you will be able to put the book down until you have finished reading it.
