Slowly but Surely
Set in Texas in the 1890's, this inspirational romance was sweet. The heroine was not your typical charmer, but in spite of her strange ways, she is endearing. The love story with Jakob develops slowly but surely, with more admiration than sparks, with the first kiss finally arriving on the last page. It explores issues ranging from blindness to wife abuse. The way her favourite Bible verse played into the story was nice, too.
