easy read fantasy
I loved this book because it wasn't just typical fantasy or historical fiction. It's both and more. In this book you find a family finding a home a nation of natives seeking solitude and peace and in the middle of all that is a boy who will shape the future of the world. the world is ours but with magic and folklore come alive. If you want a fun, imaginitive read to get you through a rainy day this is the book.

A whole new tale
Card made his mark with the Ender series which was focused almost wholly on the science fiction crowd. This book takes a new twist and focuses almost entirely on the fantasy realm. I loved this book because it is a simple read and keeps the reader engaged. It combines magic, alternate history, fantasy and a childlike innocence into a story that shows us that at the heart of things we all believe in the very best of people. Highly recommended.

Incredible
Orson Scott Card is a truly gifted writer. I didn't like his most famous novel "Ender's Game" all that much, so it was while before I read this book. But when I did pick "Seventh Son" up, I could not put it down. Card's world is rich, his characters rounded, and his writing incredible. If you like fantasy or alternate history, you will love "Seventh Son."
