I guess some folks find murder & mayhem entertaining, but I don't. I feel so sad for the gals who think they have to go to bars to find a guy. I know, they made a movie of it, and I refused to see it, but became curious about it recently, thinking I could tolerate it...but I couldn't, didn't, won't. For entertainment I want to be intelligently amused, not be left with a pounding heart.

Sad
Theresa is a very flawed girl, but readers can easily like her. She goes to bars and picks up men which soceity labels her a bad girl. Theresa keeps her nightly persona a secret as she works as a teacher. There are two sides to Theresa. The duality of human nature is examined in this rather depressing tale.
Theresa's double life ends up killing her. The police want to find out who murdered this young woman. The real mystery is who Theresa really was.
