War chronicle
James Webb was a superb soldier and therefore wrote a very insightful novel.

Fields of Fire
This book was recommended to me and it was compared to Band of Brothers. Although the book was good and was probably a very definitive book about the Viet Nam war, it does not compare in anyway to Band of Brothers. On a scale of 1 - 10, I would give it a six.
