Among the most notable of the many developments is the Enterprise Act 2002, a major new piece of legislation which will herald many changes in domestic competition law, and repeals the monopoly and merger provisions of the Fair Trading Act 1973.Also of considerable importance is the adoption of Council Regulation 1/2003, the 'EC Modernisation Regulation', which applies with effect from 1 May 2004.
