When Alice Munro is having a bad day at the desk she's still head and shoulders above the rest; when she's having a good day--which is most of the time--she occupies her own little snug spot in the cosmos. I am not a particular fan of short stories, Alice Munro is the exception. I would recommend this book to any serious reader.
