Another de Warenne
I read this one first - but will pick up more in the series as soon as I can. This is about a strong, independent - even radical woman. Finding an equal for her intelligence and strong emotions will not be easy. Enter a passing gypsy staying the night on family land and the two are destined to meet. Fitting he is not a gypsy - not in upbringing since an early age. He is coming back to his heritage to avenge a wrong done to his mother. Half englishman, half gypsy he is an enigma. However, Ariella only knows his typsy portion when they meet. They are drawn to each other (of course), she by an unspoken sense of him and her need to learn. She is a well travelled/well read woman. Not common for the times. He is Oxford educated and not interested in women except for passion's sake. Until they meet. Then, in the midst of revenge he sees in her a chance to take his vengence. However, she is an innocent. They spar, they fight, they love. It has twists and the plot is well told. Recommended reading and I will seek this author out again.
