Seller's Description:
Good. No dust jacket. About The Book: -In nineteen minutes, you can mow the front lawn, color your hair, watch a third of a hockey game. In nineteen minutes, you can bake scones or get a tooth filled by a dentist; you can fold laundry for a family of five....In nineteen minutes, you can stop the world, or you can just jump off it. In nineteen minutes, you can get revenge. Sterling is a small, ordinary New Hampshire town where nothing ever happens--until the day its complacency is shattered by a shocking act of violence. In the aftermath, the town`s residents must not only seek justice in order to begin healing but also come to terms with the role they played in the tragedy. For them, the lines between truth and fiction, right and wrong, insider and outsider have been obscured forever. Josie Cormier, the teenage daughter of the judge sitting on the case, could be the state`s best witness, but she can`t remember what happened in front of her own eyes. And as the trial progresses, fault lines between the high school and the adult community begin to show, destroying the closest of friendships and families. Nineteen Minutes is New York Times bestselling author Jodi Picoult`s most raw, honest, and important novel yet. Told with the straightforward style for which she has become known, it asks simple questions that have no easy answers: Can your own child become a mystery to you? What does it mean to be different in our society? Is it ever okay for a victim to strike back? And who--if anyone--has the right to judge someone else? -> the publisher of this PAPERBACK book is Hodder & Stoughton in 2008 booksalvation have grade it as Good and it will be shipped from our UK warehouse The text is in English.

This is a really good book. It is very well written but hard to get out of your head. The cover looks like it would be a love story, and in some ways it is.I do not want to give it away you just have to read it.

Another Teen Tragedy Book
Jodi really dives into those teen tragedy plots, doesn't she? All of her books are about topics, that honestly - they bring me down... way down. I almost always need a thoughtless, beach read next to bring myself back up!
This book is good... its a fairly quick read. Unfortunately, this is the inside story of the tragedy we read in the papers almost daily now. I suppose its interesting to gain perspective on the lunatic, killer to learn why he became that way.. and how his pychosis could have been avoided. It's also interesting to see the survivor's perspective... especially the survivor of the once-friend of the killer.
Still a downer - but a good story.

Jodi does it again
Another intense, gripping book by Jodi. If you have not read her, be prepared to be, at the same time, saddened by the state of the adolescent world and intrigued by Jodi's ability to put you right there.

Is there an editor in the house??
This book had such poor editing problems which so ticks me off. Plus, for such a sensitive subject matter, all the editing issues and the non sufficient timeline make such a mess, who was editing here? Why was this author so quick to rush through writing this book? The time was not taking to get the years and ages of past and present correctly in tact. Also piecing the references together, And..... Starting with the current time of the book only to have it not coincide with the time frame it should've been in. The reader is left with massive gaps and given pieces of a puzzle only to have them later totally ignored (MISSING). That is the problem with these sellout contracts, the quotas are so asinine, that the writer may be prolific, yet lacks that integral "substance" that make their writing great. And... Hello! I guess anyone can skip law school and rush in to the states attorneys office to be a public defender WOW! I am an avid reader, I am quick on detail I absorb it, and I was very disappointed in the sloppy, rushed and massively GAPPED nature in which this book was written. Such a shame for a book that had such potential.
