Excerpt from The Copper Handbook, Vol. 4: A Manual of the Copper Industry of the World; For the Year 1903 From the earliest dawn Of history, copper and gold seem to have been in common use among the more civilized nations, the yellow metal for own ments and as a medium of exchange, and the ruddier one for weapons and implements, usually in the form Of an allov as brass or bronze.
