It will speedily become one of the princip; 1 copper producers of the district, and can make its copper for as small a cost, per pound, as any Lake Superior mine. MONTEZUMA. An early company, organized in 1853, owning about 200 acres next west of the Grand Portage, in Houghton. An epidote amygdaloid lode was opened, in which copper was found, though not to any profitable extent. Surface is owned by the Shelden-Douglass Estate, of Houghton, except a considerable number of building lots sold to various purchasers, the Montezuma surface now being known as West Houghton. Mineral rights owned by the Shelden-Douglass Estate and under option to the Isle Royale Consolidated. The Montezuma underlay carries the continuation of the Isle Royale and Grand Portage lodes, as well as various ether unnamed lodes containing oepper. MONTREAL. A pioneer property located in Sections 8, 9 and 17, 58-28, Keweenaw county, and carrying a continuation of the fissure vein of black oxide of copper found on the Copper Harbor and Lac La Belle properties.
