Seller's Description:
Very good. The Works of Joseph de Maistre, Selected, Translated and Introduced by Jack Lively with a New Foreword by Robert Nisbet, First Schocken Edition 1971. This copy has been very lightly read. It has a very small crease along the spine on the cover and some general shelf wear along the edges. There is a former owner's signature on the front inside cover and a small note on the back inside cover, but otherwise the text is clean. Pages, spine, and binding are in excellent condition. \r\n\r\nJoseph de Maistre was an important conservative thinker and author, often compared to the likes of Edmund Burke. This hard-to-come-by text provides a great introduction to the scope of his work, and would be a great addition to any of his students' libraries. \r\n\r\n\r\n
