Chaunes haunts international conferences, where his activities as a poet are muttered about as a peculiar excentricity. He writes plays, novels and poetry (in French) and was awarded the Jos�-Maria de Heredia prize by the French Academy, the Paul Verlaine prize by the Maison de Po�sie in Paris and the Grand Prix Victor Hugo by the French Society of Poets (SPF), of which he has since become the international representative. He is a former President of Euroscience and is President of the European Academy of Sciences Arts and Literature. He is also a founder member of SPASS, the Saint-Petersburg Association of Scientists and Scholars.
