This was my first Dean Koontz book. I loved it. Couldn't put it down. At first I was a little iffy because at every chapter he was talking about completely different characters. After that, it was great.

HE'S DONE IT AGAIN
I just wanted to run out and adopt a dog or buy a golden. His love for his beloved Trixie shines through in this book. It's a wonderful tribute to her.

GREAT MYSTERY
Amy?s whole life revolves around rescuing abused dogs. When she, and her friend Brian, set out to rescue a golden retriever, named Nickie, it doesn?t take long to realize there is something very special about this dog. Amy and Brian will be pulled into a maze of hired killers, who like their jobs way too much, an over-the-edge crazy and sadistic mother, and people following them. How does this all tie together, and how does Nickie fit in? Only Dean Koontz can put so much warmth and compassion into a gory mystery. You?ll love this one. Fast paced, a must read.
