With over 400 million copies of his books sold worldwide, Dean Koontz is one of the most popular writers of our time. Read this page-turning, heart-breaking thriller to find why Odd Thomas is the master storyteller's most-loved creation. He sees what no one else does. He does what no one else can. Odd, a charismatic young man with a sense for the otherworldly and the downright strange, is in self-imposed exile. Tragic events have led him from his sun-bleached desert home of Pico Mundo to a monastery in the High Sierra, searching for peace. It's December and the remote abbey is besieged by icy winds and snow. But even in the silence of the mountains, danger and desperation haunt him still... As ever, where Odd Thomas goes, strangeness goes too. A white dog named Boo befriends him - as does the ghost of Elvis. And a world-famous physicist is conducting experiments in the catacombs of the abbey. Could this be why Odd can once again see bodachs, shadowy harbingers of violence? They prowl the halls, suggesting horror to come. But what form will it take? And how will Odd defeat an enemy that eclipses any he has met before?

This is the third in the Odd Thomas series and Dean Koontz does not disappoint. Odd takes up residence with a religious order and the Ghosts and Goblins are not far behind. Told as only Koontz can Brother Odd is one of those books you don't want to put down!

This WILL Scare You!
Leave it to Koontz to come up with original, scarey monsters and bad guys. I am a horror genre aficionado. Therefore I am pretty jaded and immune to most monsters and bad guys., This book scared me It gave me nightmares. It did tdid take several chapters before they showed up ( I don't want to give anything away) but when they did I was way spooked. Get the book, you will not be sorry, you will be scared. sleepless. A word to the wise...'bodachs' are real. Accordting to some paranormal and supernatural chat rooms they are called shadow people and you DON"T want to run into one of them.remember if you Do don;t talk about them where they can hear you! Thankfully I havn't run accross any references to boneyards or any other of Koontz's nightmare creatures.Thats not to say they arn't out there. ENJOY!

Don't miss this book!
I thought it would be hard for Mr. Koontz to get any better with the Odd Thomas books, but he did. This one is even better then the first two and they were excellent.

Koontz knocks another "Odd-ball" out of the park
Brother Odd is a great addition to the Odd Thomas series, giving us another can't-put-it-down gift. Once again we learn more about Oddie and his attempt to get away from himself, which is of course, futile, even in a remote monastery. Talk about leaving your comfort zone! Koontz paints more lively word portraits, this time of the resident monks (both living and dead), nuns (tattoos and all) and disabled children (are they channellign Stormy??) One would think that a monastery would be one place without mysteries, but we learn it isn't so, especially with brothers who are former mob hitmen ("Brother Knuckles") and physicists.. Does Oddie bring trouble or does he follow trouble? In any case, Odd Thomas finds himself in the midst of more mystery, suspense, and danger. The worst thing about the Odd Thomas books is, they always leave you wanting more. Odd Thomas is the best character Deant Koontz has invented. May there be many more.
