"Old Winter Green Days" is a collection of stories, tales, essays, snippets and poetry from the finalists in the Rockfish River Valley Writers 2020 writing contest. The contest was open to any resident, former resident or visitor who had a writing interest that was related to, or uniquely identified, with the historic Old Winter Green Village founded in 1880's and established as post office location in the Rockfish River Valley of Nelson County, Virginia in 1902. The Village had a general store, post office, water mill and a large community workers who settled along the Spruce and Stoney Creek and Rockfish River that flowed through the valley. The Winter Green Christian Church began in the late 1880's. A farming estate and plantation named WINTERGREEN was deeded, established, built and operated by one of the earliest settlers to the westward frontier of the Rockfish Valley in the mid-1880's.
