This book is the result of a major medical episode I experienced in 2010 when I collapsed in a semi-daze and my heart rate dropped to 32-36 beats. As I looked at my face plastered to the hard wood floor like frost on a pumpkin in the reflection of our kitchen trash compacter, I made two promises: one to myself and the other to God. I certainly never planned the outcome; ten published books of my own and 100 independently published authors with over 154 books in stores, craft shops, libraries and in the homes and hands of readers across the USA. It has been an amazing writing, book editing and independent publishing journey. Four of the books are collections of poetry and prose by local and regional writers available in libraries in Virginia and North Carolina. Six are the result of writing contests I sponsored and produced the winning authors' books for free. The rest followed a letter of invitation from me to publish after attending one of my free "Writing as Art, Editing & Publishing" workshops hosted by public libraries, coffee shops, arts councils and private home since 2010. There are love stories, memoirs, historical fictional books, children' books, military tributes, museum publications, teachers' manuals, devotional and prayer books, sci-fi fiction and Christian inspiration and religious books. Some were originally hand-written and needed typing while others had been left by a relative who had died and were published in remembrance of their lives. The list goes on but most of all I have listened to the many 'now published authors' say "Thank you for helping me publish my book. I never dreamed it would be possible and that people might actually read my story." Wayne Drumheller, is a native Virginian and North Carolina based photojournalist, book editor and published author.
