Seller's Description:
Very Good in Very Good jacket. Size: 8vo-over 7.75"-9.75" tall; First edition hardcover in cocoa colored paper covered boards with sharp tips and lightly bumped spine ends. Unclipped original dust jacket in new mylar is complete and displays well despite a repaired, now closed tear at foot of rear panel. Bookplate removed from blank fep shows some light roughness there, else the 184pp text is tight, crisp and unmarked. Illustrated with line drawings by Maurice Wilson. Original dust wrapper is corner clipped on foot of frt flap but price remains there. A hilarious tale of Mrs Tovey, owner of an English farmette, who did little think, as she sat on a horse called Rory, futilely trying to get him past the Rose and Crown while the villagers watched incredulously through the window, that she and her husband Charles would one day ride on a round-up in Western Canada. How this came about via lessons at the local riding school, some extremely hair-raising excursions around the countryside and a visit to the Camargue to see the horses there.
