Lame!
Admittedly, I'm not a big fan of Newt Gingrich politically speaking. However, I live in East Tennessee where this novel is set and I wanted to like it. Actually, if you can ignore the occasional not-so-subtle rhetoric (i.e., due to Americans' Second Amendment rights, countryfolk with their rifles and shotguns can drive off hordes of well armed Nazis), it's kind of a fun read. However, Newt left us hanging after the Oak Ridge nuclear facility is destroyed, and the bad guy gets away. That was supposed to prime the reader for the next volume when, assumedly, the Americans would triumph over the evil Germans. However, Volume 2 was never published so it leaves you feeling like the United States lost this imaginary war. If I had known I'd get only half the story, I wouldn't have started the book.
