The 2012 compilation Dancing Between the Fibers of Time: The Best of Anberlin's Tooth & Nail Years collects tracks from all three of Anberlin's albums for Tooth & Nail, including 2003's Blueprints for the Black Market, 2005's Never Take Friendship Personal, and 2007's Cities. These are passionate, high-energy modern rock and emo-rock-influenced anthems that helped the alternative Christian rock-leaning ensemble break through to a wider audience -- a side effect of which was Anberlin's move to the major label Universal Republic in 2008. Included here are such melodically infectious cuts as "A Whisper & a Clamor," the furiously yearning "Never Take Friendship Personal," the power pop anthem "Foreign Language," and more. Previous to this collection, Tooth & Nail had released the 2007 three-disc anthology Blueprints for City Friendships, which exhaustively brought together each of the band's albums. That said, Dancing Between the Fibers of Time is the first single-disc compilation featuring Anberlin's work from this time, and as such is a great summation of what made them such a dynamic, uplifting musical force. ~ Matt Collar, Rovi
