the blurb at the top of the page has nothing to do with the movie, which is kind of a combo of pearl harbor, a marine island invasion , and the battle of leyte gulf. lots of romance too. great acting by great actors. i'm 73, i grew up on war movies (my dad was an e.t.o. veteran) and this is one of my favorites, a cut above most john wayne war movies.

Best of the Best
Of all the WW2 movies, this is the best..
history based, double plots, etc., of course without a doubt the best John Wayne
film of all time.

war movie
This is my favorite war movie of all time. Great actors and believable story. Never a dull moment with some romance thrown in, too. And of course, John Wayne.
