Mixed feelings!
This is, too obviously, a revenge film. Small town English young woman, Amy Sumner (Susan George) returns to her hometown with her American husband, David Sumner (Dustin Hoffman), who is a math whiz and sort of a nerd. The young bride's old boyfriend(s) and childhood friends are all there and they want her for their own, now that she is back. One of them is a rat exterminator (and, spoiler alert, turns out to be a rat breeder, too, to keep himself employed!) Anyway, they want their girl back, and she seems pretty willing to give in, and her poor husband has to deal with it all. It is a bit too long, and a sad, unhappy tale. I couldn't figure out why David Sumner, a math academic, had no one else to be assisting-consulting-advising with as he was doing his math research. He was just supposed to be trying to solve his math problems and formulas all alone? / If you are a Sam Peckinpah fan, check out "The Wild Bunch" or "Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid". Both are better movies.
