Far-flung Adventure!
In the title, role Armand Assante successfully carries this dynamically far-flung war/adventure/fantasy, an admirable feat. The production is rich with convincing period details. Isabella Rossellini is stunning as Athena in an all-too-brief role. The iconic Irene Pappas is typically impressive as the stoic mother of Odysseus, with Greta Sacchi the sympathetic, long-suffering wife. Odysseus' traveling companions are a likeable, motley crew. The story unfolds in a whirl of impressive visuals, all worth an evening's committment. And anachronistic Michael J. Pollock''s New York accent is... out of place.
