The tale follows Columbus (Fred Eric) as he becomes ever more frustrated by the King of Portugal (Paul McAllister), who promises to send him on his trip. Finally the day comes when Columbus discovers that the king has already sent out one of his own men, who has returned claiming that there is no land to be found. Once again, Columbus solicits the Spanish rulers, but has no luck until a priest intervenes for him. The explorer finally gets a chance to meet with King Ferdinand (Robert Gaillard) and Queen Isabella (Dolores Cassinelli).
