This movie was so much fun, and so WONDERFUL! I wish I had known about it sooner. It was written by Louise Hovick, one of my heroes, who was also known to the world as Miss Gypsy Rose Lee. The movie is about Honey Bee Carroll, a burlesque star who wants to be taken seriously and "go legitimate," meaning go on Broadway. It's very clearly based on Gypsy Rose Lee's own experiences. Furthermore, there's a secondary character in the movie played by Carmen Miranda, who is just hilarious. I not only highly recommend this little gem, but I'd like to buy copies of it to give away as presents, that's how much I like it.
