I first saw Akira late at night in a hotel room while on a college trip. I got into it late, probably halfway through, but I knew I had to have it sometime. Now that I found it, and on DVD even, I'm glad I got it. It's a first rate show and the digital transfer only makes it that much better. Anyone who likes Japanese Anime should at least watch Akira if not own it.
