"La angustia vuelve desnuda, mira la altura del plaf�n como si temiera volar e incrustarse, parpadea, pide sentarse y se queda dormida en el div�n para escuchar el aletear sonoro del lamento y el correr tenue de dos l�grimas." - As�, con esta poes�a, comienza Carlos Alberto Casanova su libro "La vida h�meda".Un libro que a veces conducir� al lector a un territorio que podr�a parecer "costumbrista", pero no lo es. En otras, como en "Camino de vuelta", lo sorprender� por su sutileza. Esa voz ronca y malintencionada que al final de "El cumplea�os de pap�" interrumpe al personaje, suena como el eco de algo tremendo. O sea, no es eso; lo importante est� en otro sitio, ah� solo escuchamos (leemos) la consecuencia de ese algo que, a su vez, producir� otras consecuencias. Algo que intuimos enorme e inquietante.Sin embargo, incluso all� donde es m�s pol�ticamente expl�cito, el autor sortea ese exceso que exhibe buena parte de la literatura cubana actual, a veces de modo casi hist�rico. Solo apunta como de pasada y porque no puede soslayarse. Deja, por as� decirlo, que la gravedad act�e.Y casi siempre todo ocurre con un trasfondo (misterioso) de gran belleza; un trasfondo on�rico en el que, como en todo sue�o, puede ocurrir cualquier cosa. Y hay mucha poes�a en eso. Una poes�a que ilumina y que tiene poco o nada que ver con el llamado "realismo m�gico". Es simplemente la magia per se de estos relatos.Asimismo, el lector se adentrar� en paisajes muy reales, con mucha vida y mucha verdad. Disfrutar� de descripciones tan precisas que, a veces -como suele decirse-, cortan el aliento. Un ejemplo: El cielo se descompon�a sin romperse vomitando piedras y nubes acartonadas. Cirros sin valent�a, dec�an los m�s viejos.Y, por �ltimo, hallar� alg�n relato que, como "El sue�o desorientado", es en efecto un sue�o. Lo podr� leer, me parece, tambi�n como poema. Y -lo lea de un modo o de otro-, sentir� una nostalgia muy elaborada, nada llorona y de sabor muy fuerte. �A qu�? No s�. Y ese no saber es lo mejor.ABEL GERM�NEspa�a, julio de 2020
