Two events overlapped last week for me to start writing this book. One, I was teaching young American college students (most of them were Korean Americans) about who they are in Christ via Zoom retreat meeting due to Corona Pandemic. Two, finished reading a book by Pastor Sam Lee of Catalyst Christian Community Church, entitled 'Be Free.' At the end of his book, Pastor Lee concludes that to 'be free' we have to live life not based on performance, and gives a list of our true identity in Christ. He challenges us to take a look at the list and ask, "If these truths were NOT based on my ability and circumstance, could I believe this is true about myself?" Eureka! As I was reading the list, I realized that if these young Americans, who were struggling with their self identity and internet addiction, can engage in and finish 21 days media-fast and meditate on this identities one per day, and call themselves by that identity in Christ, they will all be transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit! I will engage in 21 days media-fasting while I am writing this book for 21 days, to demonstrate to myself and others, that we can LIVE and BE FREE of any bondages of media and become a new creation and transformed to a new identity in Christ. I believe the next 21 days will absolutely transform my life, and prayerfully - your life!
