Because of her intellect and ancestry, Sarah is scouted by the War Department's Intelligence branch as a highly desired prospect for a new spy agency. Upon graduation, her beau, Scotty, enters a US Army Air Corps training program to become a fighter pilot. Sarah winds up working with the British Intelligence SOE in New York and later for the OSS in Washington. An untimely nuptial is interrupted by Japan's surprise attack on Pearl Harbor.
