Fred is a mermaid going along fine with her job at the Aquarium until one day a new guy begins. He is fascinated with her and spikes her interest a bit. She hasn't had a date in 6 years so that should be saying something. Then she gets a call from her mom telling her she needs to come over. Well she gets there and there is this tall redheaded mer-man saying that he's her ruler and needs her help to find out where a toxic substance is coming from in the harbor where she works and lives. Personally, I think the book could of been a lot better and seemed kinda sedate to me, it was OK for a quick read.
