El Manual de Pruebas y Criterios contiene los criterios, m�todos y procedimientos de prueba que se deben utilizar para la clasificaci�n de mercanc�as peligrosas de acuerdo con las disposiciones de las partes 2 y 3 de las Recomendaciones de las Naciones Unidas para el Transporte de Mercanc�as Peligrosas, Reglamentaci�n Modelo y para la clasificaci�n de los productos qu�micos que presentan peligros f�sicos conforme a lo dispuesto en el Sistema Globalmente Armonizado de Clasificaci�n y Etiquetado de productos qu�micos (SGA). Por tanto, el Manual complementa los reglamentos nacionales e internacionales desarrollados a partir de la Reglamentaci�n Modelo o del SGA. Desde su primera versi�n, elaborada y posteriormente adoptada por el Comit� de Expertos en Transporte de Mercanc�as Peligrosas del Consejo Econ�mico y Social de las Naciones Unidas (ECOSOC) en 1984, el Manual se ha ido modificando y actualizando cada dos a�os. Dicha actualizaci�n se lleva a cabo bajo los auspicios del Comit� de Expertos en Transporte de Mercanc�as Peligrosas y del Sistema Globalmente Armonizado de clasificaci�n y etiquetado de productos qu�micos, que reemplaza al comit� original desde el a�o 2001. La sexta edici�n revisada, que se public� en 2015, tiene en cuenta las recomendaciones adoptadas por el comit� de expertos en su quinto y sexto per�odo de sesiones que se celebraron en 2010 y 2012 (publicadas con el s�mbolo ST/SG/AC.10/11/Rev.5/Amend.2 y ST/SG/AC.10/11/Rev.4/Amend.2) as� como las adoptadas durante su s�ptimo per�odo de sesiones, que se celebr� en 2014 (ST/SG/AC.10/42/Add.2). Las enmiendas contenidas en la presente publicaci�n fueron adoptadas por el Comit� durante su octavo per�odo de sesiones (9 de Diciembre de 2016).
