Aunque todas estas dificultades deber�ian haber hecho mella en esta ni�na, la vida acaba siendo indestructible. Hayat se escapa de casa y conoce a Mamyta, la bailarina oriental m�as importante del reino, una especie de geisha de Marrakech. Una mujer tan denigrada como admirada que es supuestamente libre en un pa�is anclado en el tab�u y la prohibici�on y que est�a presente en todos los festejos y celebraciones religiosas, pero tambi�en en los cabarets populares m�as desconocidos. Hayat descubre junto a ella que con el canto y el baile se puede hacer desaparecer la melancol�ia, volver locos a los hombres, imponer la gracia a la hostilidad y, a fin de cuentas, forjarse un destino propio.
