Die Morgentoilette der jungen Frau war nicht abgeschlossen. Sie trug einen Frisiermantel, und das schwarze Haar hing in einem ziemlich dicken Zopf �ber den R�cken. Gerade als dieser Zopf gel�st werden sollte, hatte die Kammerjungfer an dem Halse ihrer Herrin, gleich unter dem rechten Ohr, einen kleinen Ausschlag, einen sogenannten roten Wurm entdeckt. Dieses �bel wird nach Ansicht der Kammerjungfer durch einen kleinen, aber energischen Wurm verursacht, der sich in die menschliche Haut einbohrt, wobei er eine ausgesprochene Vorliebe f�r junge und zarte Haut zeigt. Er ist mehr l�stig als gef�hrlich, aber mu� auf jeden Fall ausgerottet werden, und daf�r haben die Weisen ein ausgezeichnetes Mittel im Kuckucksspeichel gefunden. Der Kuckuck lebt n�mlich von W�rmern, und sein Speichel, den man �berall auf Gr�sern und Kr�utern findet, ist f�r den Wurm ein t�dliches Gift. So weit die Kammerjungfer. Frau Janselius ben�tzte die Gelegenheit, ein wenig Aufkl�rung zu verbreiten."
