Questo meccanismo pone un problema nella coniugazione tra due ceppi con polimorfismi inserzionali: una cellula teoricamente non sar� in grado di escindere un SEI portato dall'allele paterno ricevuto se questo SEI � assente dall'allele materno o se la sequenza � troppo divergente.
