Sebbene la PCR convenzionale a trascrizione inversa sia specifica, sensibile, rapida e conveniente, � necessario effettuare un'analisi post-trascrizione inversa. Tuttavia, la PCR a trascrizione inversa convenzionale fornisce solo risultati qualitativi e non quantitativi, mentre la PCR a trascrizione inversa in tempo reale richiede meno tempo e minori possibilit� di contaminazione incrociata rispetto alla PCR a trascrizione inversa convenzionale. Non sono necessarie analisi post-trascrizione inversa della PCR e si ottengono risultati qualitativi e quantitativi con minori possibilit� di contaminazione incrociata.
