As photography catalogs go, this one's a doozy, getting off to a quick start with not one but three frontispieces by Richard Prince, Gregory Crewsdson and Robert Frank AND, after the Table of Contents, Nan Goldin, more Robert Frank, Andy Warhol, Man Ray, and Mike Kelley. Wow. Multiple essays old and new, including Jeff Wall's famous "Marks of Indifference" and less known but equally pithy Hripsime Visser's "What are Museums Making of Photography?", a stunningly complete and sensitive overview in a copiously b+w and color small format text. What a bargain.
