Einf�hrung Die Logistik in Unternehmen gewinnt heute immer mehr an Bedeutung. Es geht mittlerweile nicht mehr allein darum, die Ware m�glichst effizient an den Kunden zu bringen, sondern es werden zus�tzliche Anforderungen an die Unternehmenslogistik gestellt. Immer neue Strategien und Techniken finden ihren Einzug in die Logistik und sollen diese Anforderungen erf�llen, zu ihrer Erf�llung beitragen oder die Logistik effizienter gestalten. Dabei gilt der Einsatz moderner Informations- und Kommunikationstechnologien als unumg�ngliche Voraussetzung, um nicht an Wettbewerbsf�higkeit zu verlieren. Die optischen Identifikationsverfahren, wie der Barcode, geh�ren zu diesen Technologien und sind bisher weit verbreitet. Sie haben aber bereits ein Ende der Entwicklungsstufe erreicht. Deshalb ger�t derzeit eine andere, auf Funk basierende, Identifikationstechnologie zunehmend in das Visier der Logistiker, die Radiofrequenzidentifikation oder kurz RFID. Bereits in den fr�hen 90er Jahren kam die RFID-Technologie vermehrt ins Gespr�ch, wenn auch erst in logistikfremden Bereichen. Als erste Anwendungsgebiete gelten die Tieridentifikation, Zutrittskontrolle oderWegfahrsperren in Pkws. Sp�ter wurde die Identifikationstechnologie zur dezentralen Steuerung von Produktionsprozessen, zum Beispiel in der Automobilindustrie, eingesetzt. [Pfla01, S. 1 ff. ] Das technische Grundprinzip selbst ist dabei keine neue, innovative Technologie, sondern hat seine Urspr�nge bereits im 2. Weltkrieg. Dennoch bietet sich durch die Erschlie�ung immer neuer Einsatzfelder erhebliches Rationalisierungs- und Einsparungspotenzial.
