Bei der fremderregten Schwingung existiert eine von der Schwingungsbe- wegung unabh�ngige Wechselkraft, die entweder aus der Werkzeugmaschine selbst kommen kann (Unwuchten, Zahnr�der, W�lzlager, Pumpen usw.), oder �ber das Fundament in die Maschine hineingeleitet wird. �bertragen sich Schwingungen bis auf das Werkzeug und Werkst�ck, so k�nnen zwischen die- sen au�er den erw�nschten Schnitt- und Vorschubbewegungen zus�tzlich Relativbewegungen auftreten. Bewegungskomponenten senkrecht zur bearbei- teten Werkst�ckoberfl�che erzeugen Rattermarken. Dadurch kann die Genau- igkeit der Oberfl�che z.B. beim Feindrehen oder Schleifen begrenzt wer- den. Bei Schrupparbeiten spielen fremderregte Schwingungen bei nicht unterbrochenem Schnitt seltener eine Rolle. Au�er Wechselkr�ften k�nnen auch mechanische Impulse auftreten, die ein- zelne Maschinenteile in abklingende Eigenschwingungen versetzen. Im Gegensatz zur fremderregten ben�tigt die selbsterregte Schwingung keine unabh�ngige St�rkraft. Die Kr�fte zur Anfachung der Schwingung entstehen durch die Schwingbewegung selbst (siehe KLOTTER (12), S.386). An Werkzeugmaschinen erreichen die selbsterregten Schwingungen im Gegen- satz zu den fremderregten meist sehr gro�e Amplituden. Sie m�ssen des- halb auf jeden Fall verhindert werden. Selbsterregte Schwingungen k�nnen meist leicht als solche erkannt werden, da ihre Frequenz stets ann�hernd gleich der Eigenfrequenz eines Teiles der Maschine, des Werkst�ckes oder Werkzeuges ist. TLUSTY (23) spricht von dem Leitsystem, das die Frequenz bestimmt.
