Muchas son las herramientas que posee el cardi�logo para el diagn�stico adecuado de esta entidad, una buena historia cl�nica, el electrocardiograma (ECG) de reposo y/o esfuerzo y los ex�menes paracl�nicos han permitido diagnosticar la isquemia mioc�rdica. En casos donde estas t�cnicas no son concluyentes, los m�todos adicionales de imagen para la demostraci�n de isquemia pueden ser �tiles para definir si el paciente es portador o no de una cardiopat�a isqu�mica. En este contexto surge el ecoestr�s; se trata en definitiva de una t�cnica que eval�a la respuesta de la contractilidad mioc�rdica regional a un determinado apremio f�sico y/o farmacol�gico. Por lo que se realiz� el estudio que presentamos para, entre otros objetivos, medir la sensibilidad y la especificidad de esta prueba diagn�stica, que entre sus ventajas muestra, la baja tasa de complicaciones que posee.
